Let’s get to work, America.
I have seen enough discrimination, violence and hatred in my privileged life. What Black people have endured for generation after generation in our country is inexcusable and it needs to end. Reparations need to be made. Let’s stop pretending everything is ok and start righting the wrongs. Nelson Mandela said, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” We can do it.
Let’s get to work, America!
When my daughter was a toddler she said, “Paintings are like flowers on snow.” I have always been in awe of her ability with words, something I do not have. What a free and uninhibited imagination she has. My inner critic never ceases to rule my head but my never ending hope is that I will recapture the unbound freedoms of my younger and more selfishly determined mind.
The view seen here never ceases to make me happy. Depending on the time of year, the angle of light, the intensity of the weather and density of the atmosphere, there will never be two glimpses alike. As evening approaches, a waxing moon floats above the glowing fog. What I longed for was to pull out a snow white canvas and throw down a bouquet of colorful clouds.
Spring has sprung. My favorite time of year to paint. So many greens. Oh what Rembrandt colors to use? Ceylon Blue and Lemon Yellow? Viridian, Ultramarine Blue, a touch of Orange and Cad Red? Viridian and Yellow deep? So many combinations, so little time to catch the light.
Timeless sea breezes,
